  • Join us as we hike our local parks and trails to explore nature in winter! We will visit four local parks/trails near Greensboro, showcasing the recreational opportunities at our doorstep. On the hikes we focus on enjoying and exploring the nature around us and sharing that experience with our fellow hikers. We hike at a leisurely but purposeful pace and do not seek to finish the hike as fast as possible. All hikes are free for everyone.     • March 2 at 1 pm Northeast Park: Various Trails Distance: 4 miles Approximate Time: 2 hours Type: Loops and Out & Back Just 14 miles from the heart of downtown Greensboro is Northeast Park, with 375 acres and miles of trails for us to explore. Dress warm and bring water. Meet at the Events Center parking lot. Northeast Park is located at 3421 Northeast Park Dr., Gibsonville. (Use 4010 High Rock Rd. for GPS purposes).

  • Randolph County Library Used Bookshop: All proceeds from the bookshop go to supplement the Asheboro library’s book budget. The shop is stocked with books, audio visuals and other items withdrawn from the library collection and from donations. Located at 226 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC 27203.   • Group Running: Weekly Group Run - Every Saturday we meet at South Asheboro Middle School (523 West Walker Avenue) at 7:00 am for a group run. Groups run at different paces and distances. EVERYONE IS WELCOME. Come out and join us. There is something for everyone. Don't feel like you have to be an accomplished runner to come out and join us. Week Day Group Run - Every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday a group meets at South Asheboro Middle School (523 West Walker Avenue) at 5:30 am for a group run. ALL are welcome.
  • Fit Community Downtown Asheboro Fitness Walk Program: The Downtown Asheboro Fitness Walk program provides both marked paths and coordinated group walks to encourage Asheboro residents and visitors to develop active lifestyles. The program is sponsored in part by a grant from the NC Health & Wellness Trust Fund. Group Walks Mondays - Thursdays Meet at the Asheboro Downtown Farmers' Market - S.   • Half-Mile Community Walking Path: Enjoy and test out the new community walking path in Asheboro! The path is brought to you by the Randolph Community Health Foundation and it is immediately fronting the YMCA on Highway 42 in Asheboro.
  • Pisgah Covered Bridge:  Explore this interesting structure, one of North Carolina’s two remaining historic covered bridges. Built in 1911 at a cost of $40, the bridge is 54 feet in length and crosses the West Fork Branch of the Little River within the Uwharrie National Forest.  A great spot for photography, picnics and nature walks along the surrounding quarter-mile walking trail.  Picnic tables and public parking available.  Take exit 49 from Hwy 220/Interstate 73/Interstate 74.

  • Skywarn Weather Spotter Class: The National Weather Service will be in Rockingham County on Thursdays, March 7th at the Rockingham County Emergency Operations Center Building at 150 NC Highway 65 in Reidsville at 7pm to conduct a free storm spotting and weather safety presentation. Anyone is welcome to attend.
  • City Limits Dance Night: Thursdays, 7:00-9:30 pm, Join in on Thursday nights at the Reidsville Events Center fot the City Limits Dance Night! See the members that made Greens Supper Club Famous! Admission $5.00

  • Seniors Exercise Groups: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 8:30-9:00, Sit down or stand up class using resistance bands, balls, and hand held weight.

  • Rotary Lodge and Hinson Lake: Open to the public. 152 Hinson Lake Road, Rockingham, NC 28379, Hinson Lake is a lovely city park located within the city limits of Rockingham. There is almost 3 mile of walking trails looping around the lake under a shady canopy of trees. Kayak and canoe rental available. M-F 4pm-8pm Saturday 12pm-8pm Sunday- 1pm- 8pm
